Manage your Geo-fence

Geo-fencing is a feature in a software program that uses the global positioning system or radio frequency identification to define geographical boundaries. A geofence is a virtual barrier.

Geofencing allows automatic alerts to be generated based on the defined coordinates of a geographic area. Triggers do not have to happen because of a physical presence. It would be possible to establish a geofence area around a neighborhood and have alerts.

Mshopper has introduced a brand new feature of geofencing to help its users locate a store which is very close to them. Geofencing has 3 sections:

  1. A. Manage Geofences
  2. B. Manage Notifications
  3. C. Analytics

These sections are described in details below:

Manage Geofences:

In this section, user can create and manage all the geofences. To manage the geofences, just navigate to mPower Marketing Tools -> GeoFenceing -> Manage your geofences.

A page will get invoked as follows:

This page contains 2 steps:

  1. 1. Create or Edit Your Geo-Fences
  2. 2. Create or Edit your Notifications

By default first Step Create or Edit Your Geo-Fences is enabled. To create a Notification, firstly, you need to add a Geo-Fence.

# Steps to add a geofence:

  1. 1. Click on ‘+Add New Geofence’ button.
  2. 2. A popup will occur having fields for Adding New Geofence.
  3. 3. You will need to enter the following information:

- Name for Geofence – The name of the geofence that will appear in the list below after adding it.

- Address for geofencing – The point at which the geofence must be created. As soon as you enter an        address in this field, the map below will load the location of that address        based on the longitudes and latitudes.

- The radius for the geofence – This field will set the virtual boundary for the geofence in meters.

# Steps to edit a geofence:

  1. To Edit the Geofence you have created, click on Edit GeoFence button in front of that particular GeoFence.
  2. This will invoke a popup that will contain all the details of the geofence auto populated in their respective fields. User can edit the details here and save the changes.

# Steps to delete a geofence:

  1. To delete a geofence, you can click on the red cross mark in front of the respective geofences. A confirmation popup will be asked. On clicking Yes, the geofence will be deleted.

# Search and filter geofences:

Users can search the geofences created by them from the list of geofences. The user can simply type Geofence name in the box provided for it and click on Search. The list of searched geofences will appear below.

While applying Filters for the geofences, user must firstly select what type of filter he wants to apply to the geofences. User can filter the geofences by City, State or Zip Code. If the user filters by city, all the cities which are used while creating the geofences by the user will be loaded in the Filter drop down. User can then select the desired city from here. As soon as he selects a city, the page will be reloaded and the related geofences will be listed below.

# See my geofences on the map:

When user selects this option, all the geofences created by that user will be displayed on the map in the form of Red markers. If the user clicks on one of these markers, the information related to that particular geofence will be displayed in a popup balloon.

User can zoom in the map for a more clear view of a geofence. Also the user can switch the view in between Map view and Satellite view using the option provided on the top right corner of the window.
