Creating an e-commerce site can be one of the most profitable moves you could ever make, but an issue that a lot of other sites have had is how to properly market it. If you can’t properly market it, then you won’t be able to find new customers and the site will fail.The race is how do you get those consumers engaged and ultimately staying with your site.

Even before the internet was crawling with eCommerce sites, new businesses would always have opening sales, or some type of promotion to help attract people.If you are offering a promotion or sale, then you can appeal to many more people. Consumers love a good deal, so make a great offer, and watch as they flock to your site.


How to create Fused Time bomb Promotion

Step 1: Choose Your Product, Category or Brand.

Step 3 : Choose Starting Date + Time.

How to create Fused Time bomb Promotion

 

  1. To create a promotion, please navigate to mPower Marketing>>Fused Time Bomb and "Create New Time Bomb".
  2. Once you select an option “Create new Time Bomb”, a page by page wizard will appear on screen containing list of steps, you need to configure all the steps one by one. 

 

Step 1: Choose Your Product, Category or Brand.

Part 1:Under this step you will see a field "I want to set up a time bomb for a" with 3 options such as Specific Product, Product Category, Brand.

A) If you choose Specific Product option: Promotion will include list of products which are hand selected. To select the products use the search bar displayed on screen.
Note: you need to have uploaded your product datafeed file or entered your products manually (See datafeeds in left hand navigation menu).

B) If you choose Product Category option: To choose the category, toggle “Product Category” and then click on the dropdown list box that appears. This dropdown will contain a complete list of all categories as they appear in your datafeed. Choose the one you wish to use for your promotion. By default, all the products in the selected category will be added to your promotion.
Note: Only 1 category is allowed per promotion. 

You can manually delete specific products from the promotion as follows:

How To Remove products from selected Category for Promotion?

If the configuration is not yet saved, you can remove any product from your promotion by scrolling through all available products and then clicking the 'Remove this Product' option, which is available for every product.If you have saved the configuration, and wish to remove products, then, click on edit link just underneath Category name at Step no.1, this will open an edit panel with list of current products in your promotion.

C) If you choose Brand option: Promotion will include all the products which are available under a select Brand of your’s. To choose a Brand, Click on available dropdown list box which contain list of Brands, choose any one of them.
Note: Only 1 Brand is allowed per promotion.

How ToRemove products from selected Brand for Promotion?

In this step you can only delete them, if configuration is not saved, scroll through all available products, and then click the “Remove This Product” option next to the product you wish to remove.

To Add/Remove products from a promotion where you have already saved products:  Click on the View/Edit link under the 3rd column, as shown below.This will bring up the selector dialog box shown above. Simply navigate to the product you wish to remove and click the ‘Remove This Product’ option.

Once you complete product selection for your promotion, provide a good, catchy name to your promotion. It's important to give your promotion a "marketing/consumer friendly name" as consumers will see this name in all of your promotional outreach and in our ByBuy app.Just type the name of your promotion in the provided text box and hit the "save" button.  Then, click the "Go To Next Step" button to proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Choose Your Promotion Type.

Under this step you will need to choose the promotion type.

There are 2 different type of promotion:

A) Fused Time Bomb: Fused Time Bombs allow you to change your promotion discount based with the passing of time and/or the number of units sold.
E.g. You can set a fuse where discounts reduceevery 10 minutes from 90% to 20%.  In this example, your fuse might begin and from 6:00 pm to 6:10pm thediscount will be 90%, for 6:11pm to 6:20 pm discount will be 80%, for 6:21 pm to 6:30 pm discount will be 70%, and so on.

B) Regular Time Bomb: Regular time bombs offer one consistent discount for the entire duration of promotion, or until the allocated number of units runs out.
E.g. For entire duration of promotion discount will be fixed like, for 6.00 pm to 6:30 pm discount will be 50%.

Choose any one of them and click on "Go To Next Step" button to proceed on next Step, you can also navigate to previous step by clicking "Go To Previous Step" button.

Step 3 : Choose Starting Date + Time.

 

Under This Step you will need to configure promotion Start and End date time.

A) You will see two date time pickers; use these to set the Start and End date time.

Please note that all times are US Central Time.

B)Once you configure the promotion Start and End date time successfully, click on "Go To Next Step" button to proceed on next step:

You will see a confirmation pop-up window that confirms your Start and End date times.  We also calculate the duration of your promotion so you know how long your promotion will last in days, hours, and minutes. Confirm your settings by selecting "Yes, save my settings" or "No, go back" button.

Step 4 A: Configure Your Fuse Time Bomb.

Under this step you will need to configure the "Fuse" for your promotion.
NOTE:
The fuse is your promotion timeline where you can precisely program how your discounts change with the passing of time and/or units sold. 

To program your fuse:

Part 1:

1) Set Your Initial Discount?
Here you will set initial discount of your promotion. To set this, just enter valid discount in percent or dollars on provided input box. HINT:  Offer extraordinary discounts for the first few tiers. This is the “Wal Mart Black Friday appeal for your promotion.  This will determine the success of your promotion. Then,

2) Set the number of units available for the initial discount tranche?
Here you will need to set the number of units which will be available for initial discount tranche. To set this, just enter the quantities on provided input box.
NOTE:Number of Units entered here will auto-default for each subsequent tier.  But, you WILL be able to set the units available for each tier on a subsequent page. 

3) Set your final discount?

Here you will need to set the final discount of your promotion which will be in the last discount tranche. To set this, just enter the discount on provided input box.NOTE: Final discount cannot be greater than Initial Discount.

4) Maximum No. of Units Per User?

Here you will need to set the limit for maximum number of units which can be purchase by each user. To set this, just enter the Nub of units in the provided input box. NOTE: Maximum No. of Units should be less than number of units available in the tranche.Also you can change this value for each tier of pricing on the next page. 

part 2: This will include the following fields:

  • For Every?

Here You will need to set the time component to change the promotion discount. To set this, just enter the value and then select dropdown value such as (i.e) sec, Minutes, Hours, Days. 

  • Reduce the Discount By?

Here you will need to set the percentage to reduce the discount with relevant to above selected time, to set this enter percentage in the provided input box.

As an example, enter “10” and select minutes if you would like your initial discount to decrease by 10% every 5 minutes of elapsed time. We recommend a very simple fuse. If your promotion lasts one hour, you may want to start with a starting discount of 90% and a final discount of 20%. A good fuse setting would be to have each tier decrease by 10% every 5 minutes. This means that 35 minutes after start, the final 20% discount will appear and remain for the last 25 minutes of your promotion!!!   

Once you completed the above steps, Select "Save& View my Setting" button to proceed on next step.

You can always Preview/Edit the promotion from right side column! 

 

Step 4 B: View your promotion timeline.

Under this step, you will see a visual representation of your promotion timeline and all the tiers (we call them decrements). For each decrement you can confirm the precise start time, end time, Discount Percent, Sale Price, “Available Units”, and “Max No of Units Per User” etc. You can edit the “Available Units”&“Max No of Units Per User” for each decrement!  We strongly encourage you to customize these fields!  HINT: You may want to increase the number of available units and max number per user for later decrements where the discounts are smaller.If you configure your promotion correctly, you should actually realize a nice cash profit from your promotion, notwithstanding the initial super discounts!

Important:If your promotion contains more than 1 product, you will see a dropdown selector for each product. You will need to configure all the fuse for all the products in your promotion by using "Save & Next Product"  or "Success Continue To next Step" buttons.

Step 5: Promotion Integration: Integrating your promotion into your shopping cart.  you will need to set Promotion codes for your promotion.

There are two steps to integrating your promotion

Step 1:  Promo code integration.  We use auto generated, invisible promo codes to effectuate the discounts in your promotion.  These  MUST be added into your promo code system.
Step2:  mPower clients only must choose an order processing method.  You can use your shopping cart.  This requires API integration!!  Or, you can choose an mShopper hosted shopping cart and then process orders immediately.  With this option no API integrations are required and you can launch your first promotions instantly!

mStore clients only:  mStore clients need only to make sure that the invisible promo codes are integrated into your shopping cart system

Step 5A: Generate Your Promo Codes.

Under this step you will see visual representation of your promotion just like Step 4B.

1) you will need to click on "GENERATE MY CODES" button which will auto-generate the in promo codes for all available decrements .Once you done with this, "Your Code"field will appear on screen with promo codes.

2) Cool feature:  Once you generate your promo codes, use the built in template to email your codes and preformatted instructions to everyone on your team

Step 5B: Generate Your Promo Codes.

1) Under this step you can review the email template format which includes Your name, Promotion approval link, promotion details.

2) To send your email, fill the details in the available fields and click on "Send" button.

3) Once you receive an email, please make sure to follow the instructions by copying and pasting the codes into your promo code system.  This is mandatory!!!Then, once you have confirmed the codes have been entered, go back to the email and click the “approve your promotion link” in your email. 

Note: It is mandatory to approve the promotion; your promotion will NOT start until you certify and approve your promotion.

Step 6: Waiting Room + Save.

Your fused time bomb includes a ‘virtual waiting room’ where your customers can login and ‘camp out’ until the actual promotion begins!  To configure your waiting room overlay.

 Step 6 A: Configure your waiting room overlay. 

Your customers will see an "waiting room overlay page" which will appear before the actual promotion begins, you will need to configure this by following below steps:

Step1: When do you want your waiting room to be open?

This setting determines when shoppers can first enter your promotion. to configure this select the time from the provided dropdown. NOTE:We recommend no more than 30 minutes and no less than 10 minutes.  If customers try and access your waiting room before the waiting room opens, they will be greeted by a pop up alert that notifies them that your promotion has not begun, along with a time when the waiting room first opens. 

Step 2: Do visitors have to login/register to access the promotion?

You will see "YES/NO toggle buttons", If you set it to YESuser will require to login/register before accessing the promotion, if you set it to NO user will not need to login/register before accessing the promotion.Please set this to Yes.  This is how you build your mConnect database!!!!

Step 3: Configuring your waiting room elements

The emulator below shows your current waiting room configuration. 

  • Most of the wording is hard coded instructions for your customer and cannot be changed.
  • You can edit the wording and fonts as indicatedwithin the 3 separate elements highlighted by the dotted border. Clicking in these element will popup a WYSIWYG text editor.  NOTE: There is limit for wording, so you can edit this up to some extent.
  • The look and feel for your overlay is determined by how you configured the CSS for your waiting room overlay.  Simply click the link “Click here’ to edit the look and feel of your overlay. 
  • All pages in your promotion are responsive.  So you can post  live promotions in your website, and anywhere.  Logos are not responsive, but do auto adapt for screen size as long as you upload the 4 different sized versions of your logo.  To upload/edit your logos, click on the click here button.  Once you completed the above steps, click on save and next button.

Step 6B: Save Your Promotion.

In this step you will assign Google shopping categories & a 100x100 marketingimage for your promotion.  All merchant promotions are auto-distributed through our ByBuy app.  We use Google shopping categories to power the browse function within ByBuy!

1) Set Google Categories: Here You have to select at least 1 category. These are used to help app users search, filter, find and share your promotion.

To set Google Categories just click and choose the categories from provided dropdown box. NOTE:You can only Select up to 3 Google Categories.

2) Select image for your promotion listing in BuBuy!: The image is used to help app users search, filter, find and share your promotion!

There are 3 options available to set the image:

1) Use store image: It will set your 100 X 100 store image.

2) Use Existing product image: It will allow you to choose  store product image.

NOTE:This option is not recommended for promotion having more than one product.  

3) Upload custom image: It will allow you to choose 100X100 size custom image.

NOTE: This is the best option for promotions with more than one product.

Once you select an image click on "Save my Promotions" and then "Go To Next" button,you can also go back to previous or next step by using "Go To Previous Step" or "Go To Next Step".

You can always Preview/Edit the promotion from right side column!

 


Step 7: Activate + Promotion URL. 

This step is all about to Activate and generate you promotion link.

Step 7A: Activate your promotion. 

 

1) Test + Activate My Promotion: Here you will see a link to test your promotion. To test your promotion just click on that link, it will open new tab with promotion overlay which is exact replica of your real promotion.

 

2) Authorize and Activate Your Promotion: This is just a confirmation step to confirm that you have tested the promotion successfully before activating it, Here you will need to enter your name and initial in the provided text box.

Once you done above steps Hit the "Activate My Promotion' button to activate the promotion. You can also go back to previous or next step by using "Go To Previous Step" or "Go To Next" button.

Note: Don't forgot to activate your promotion here, otherwise your promotion will not start.

 

Step 7B: Marketing Your - Promotion. 

 

This step includes all the stuff related to marketing your promotion and includes:

1)     Your Waiting Room URLS: Here you can copy and paste the URLS to access your promotion.  We include full URLs and bit.ly URLs.  All visitors to your promotion will be greeted by a virtual waiting room, an overlay that sits above the product detail page (or product listing page for promotions with more than one product)].

 

2)A comprehensive marketing checklist is provided and includes:

1. Send out scheduled emails to YOUR email list: Use this tool to send yourself reminders to send out emails to your email list.  You’ll want to send out 2 or 3 emails to your list including one or two emails that tell your customers about the promotion and one final reminder email a few minutes before your waiting room is set to open It will allow you to send your promotion email reminders.

2. Send out mText reminders: This is exactly same as email reminders.  Send mText reminders to all your mConnect customers!!

3. Don't forget to post on your website: Here you will see an embedded code which can be used to promote the promotion on website.  By posting the embed code, your promotion will appear live in your site!

4. Post notifications on your social media sites: Here You will see social media icons,You can use the checkbox below to track your progress. It will allow users to share the promotion information on social networking sites.

Once you configure the above settings click on 'Save + Next' Button. A confirmation overlay will appear on screen with promotion overview.

 

Now, Your promotion is successfully set. you can always edit it, if you wish to do!

Note: Your promotion will never start until and unless, It is Approved and Activated by you under Step 5B and 7A.
